La Tasca means "local gathering place" in Spanish, and it translates perfectly at our lively Arlington Heights location. Since 1996, our kitchen celebrates authentic, traditional, and contemporary flavors of Spain with a variety of cold and hot tapas, paellas, daily specials, and incredible homemade desserts. Whether the need be a private party, drinking homemade sangria at the bar, or hearing some of the hottest live Latin music around, La Tasca is sure to please! Our extensive bar offers a wide selection of Sangrias, Spanish wines, beers, and specialty drinks. Between the hand-painted tiles and murals, marble bar, and all the details, your visit with us will be one to remember and one to talk about.

Tapas are not a particular type of food, but rather represent a Spanish style of dining. The word tapa comes from the verb tapar, meaning to cover. Originally the tapa was a slice of cured ham or bread placed over a wine glass to protect it and served compliments of the house. People chose their favorite tavern by the tapas they served.
